Bandwagon- A usually ornate and high wagon for a band of musicians especially in a circus, a popular party, faction, or cause that attracts growing support.
SO WHICH OF THE TWO DEFINITIONS FITS THIS PARTICULAR SITUATION?
Scapegoat- One that bears the blame for others, one that is the object of irrational hostility.
The terms scapegoat and bandwagon relate to the novel "A Troubled Peace" because, during Hitler's reign in power he convinced all citizens of Germany that the Jews were the reason for the economic downfall, and the harsh treatment from the Versailles Treaty. He the Jews as a scapegoat to get power and support from Germany. Once he was in power had had support he made sure no one would try to stop him. He made rules and convinced his people that he was right and if anyone objected, they would be killed.
